We were extremely curious to spend a night at this hotel that has opened 1 year ago and, as many others in Dubai, got a few months later really affected by the pandemic situation.
The welcome message appearing on the TV screen of our room certainly did not disappoint to underline the particularity of this hotel: “Dear Miss Fin, welcome to Paramount Hotel Dubai, where the main star is You. The stage is yours now. Enjoy the journey”.
Welcome to Paramount Hotel Dubai! Welcome to a journey that goes through the history of the fifth oldest film studio in the world, the second oldest film studio in the United States, and the sole member of the “Big Five” film studios still located in the city limits of Los Angeles. In 1916, film producer Adolph Zukor put 22 actors and actresses under contract and honored each with a star on the logo. In 2014, Paramount Pictures became the first major Hollywood studio to distribute all of its films in digital form only.
Inspired by the rich history of Paramount Pictures, the hotel is set centre stage in the heart of Dubai’s dynamic Business Bay district, 16 km near to the Dubai International Airport. Starting with its 6 elevators, the Hollywood-themed is everywhere with amazing pictures. We were lucky enough to visit the Godfather suite and admire its stylish décor, especially the barber chair.
Hotel rooms have wall quotes from Breakfast at Tiffany’s in each bathroom, “Hand me my purse, will you, darling? A girl can’t read that sort of thing without her lipstick.…”, just to mention one.
The hotel also has a private cinema, time capsule and stage for live entertainment, the Paramount Screening Room pays homage to the historical magic of motion pictures and quintessential Paramount classics. Home to movies, stand-up comedy, live music and theatre productions, this intimate space is indeed a film-lovers dream.
Dubai is full of hotels, but Paramount hotel certainly offers you a very special experience.
