UB4O live @ Irish Village
The original trio behind UB40 are at Irish VIllage tonight – the band has 40 million record sales under their belt and plenty of hits, including Red Red Wine and Falling In Love With You.

The Sound Collective @ Barasti
Massive (and totally free) EDM festival The Sound Collective will be running for three days. See Bassjackers on Thursday March 30, followed by producer, musician, DJ and vocalist AMTRAC (who moves between disco, indie-dance and deep house) on Friday March 31 alongside Dutch heavyweight R2HAB. The event finishes with music from local dup Hollophonic tonight.
SHOPPING FAIRS
Gitex Shopper started yesterday and runs until Saturday – here are 10 of the best bargains you’ll find there. One word of warning however, if you’re heading down expect crowds. They’re even extending the metro hours on Saturday for it, as they’re expecting that many people they expect to be muscling into the Trade Centre.

Right next to Gitex Shopper you’ll find The Big Clearance Sale, which features 80 per cent off on more than 100 fashion and beauty brands – if you’re after some skincare, jewels, shoes, perfume or new clothes, this is the place for you.

SPORT: Watch extreme sports at The Beach
There’s a festival called Urban Beats running at The Beach all weekend – think extreme sports demonstrations, as well as street art and a range of hip hop. We’ll be heading down to check out 28-year-old slacklining pro Mickey Wilson from the US. You’ll also get to see BMX phenom’ James Jones in action, as well as pro scooter rider Lewis Williams. There will also be breakdancing battles and live art activations.
South Lawn, The Beach opposite JBR, 6pm to 10pm Thursday and 4pm to 8pm Friday and Saturday. Free entry.
