UAE National Day 2018 Celebration: 47th Anniversary Spirit of the Union
The United Arab Emirates celebrates 47 glorious years as a Nation on this day. The seven Emirates, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al-Quwain joined together to become one of the world’s fastest growing and most successful countries.
The entire city comes alive with the spirit of the union as Dubai fires up the grand celebration of the UAE National Day on 2 December.
The sky sparkles with magnificent fireworks and light displays, parades brighten up the streets and festive decorations adorn the city. Special concerts, cultural festivals, delectable traditional cuisines, attractive shopping deals and exclusive staycation packages add to the festivities as residents get together to celebrate the union of the seven emirates and formation of the beautiful country.

Fireworks
This year’s National Day will see the entire horizon over the Arabian Gulf illuminate in a scintillating display of fireworks. Witness a visual symphony of fire, lights and colours take over the sky from The Beach in Jumeirah Beach Residents all the way to Al Seef.
Make an evening of the celebrations and catch the show over dinner at one of The Beach, La Mer or Al Seef’s many dining destinations. Each of the locations is home to exciting attractions perfect for all ages and interests, from movie theatres to sports activities.
Fireworks will set off at The Beach at 8pm, followed by Al Seef at 8:30pm and finally at La Mer at 9pm. Bring out the whole family to enjoy the celebrations or attend one of the many cultural events taking over the city during a the National Day weekend.
Concert @ Burj Park
Bring the whole family to Burj Park for live concerts by celebrated regional artists, as it lights up for two days to commemorate the UAE National Day. Framed by the iconic Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall, Burj Park is one of the most scenic and appropriate destinations to celebrate the national holiday.
Join Waleed Al Shami on 1 December, as he serenades crowds at the open-air venue with his repertoire of self-composed tracks that made him an Arabic icon. Waleed Al Shami will be followed by local jewel Ahlam. A star in the Arab world, Ahlam has left a noticeable mark in the music industry with ten albums and a four-season stint as a judge on MBC’s Arab Idol.
The following day, pop icon Balqees will take the stage alongside Hussain Al Jasmi to ring in the national day celebrations. Daughter of well-known musician Ahmed Fathi, Balqees grew from a young musical prodigy into a global phenomenon with three albums to her name. Award-winning singer Al Jasmi will follow up with a playlist of his hit national songs, such as his debut single ‘Bawada’ak’.
IMAGE Show @ Dubai Festival City
The spectacular IMAGINE Show at Dubai Festival City Mall is gearing up to celebrate 47 years of the UAE with a state-of-the-art show reflecting the colours, spirit and heritage of the nation. Visit the attraction to witness the newest choreography of laser, water and lights alongside a scintillating fireworks display over the Dubai Festival City sky at 8pm and 10pm on 2 December.
Watch the spectacular show designed by talented audiovisual artists from one of the many restaurants located around the waterfront at Dubai Festival City Mall. Several of the mall’s leading retail stores will also host incredible sales, so be sure to shop, dine and shine this 2 December.
Hamad al Amri @ Global Village
Hamad Al Amri fans, this National Day brings a special treat for you. The independent Emirati singer is taking over the main stage at Global Village, the region’s largest multicultural festival, for a concert to honour 47 years of the union.
Hamad Al Amri is a seasoned national day performer, having wowed and excited local crowds during past anniversaries. Well known and well loved in the region, the artist has commanded the stage at festivals in Oman and Muscat and is returning to the UAE right in time for the release of his fourth studio album.
