Spandau Ballet, one of Britain’s great iconic bands will bring their Soul Boys of the Western World tour  to Dubai World Trade Centre on Thursday 17th September.

The band have sold over 25 million records, scored numerous multi-platinum albums and amassed 23 hit singles across the globe since their humble beginnings as a group of friends with dreams of stardom in the late 1970′s.

The band was inspired by, and an integral part of, the New Romantic movement, and became one of the most successful groups to emerge during the New Romantic era. The band’s classic line-up features brothers Gary and Martin Kemp on guitars, vocalist Tony Hadley, saxophonist Steve Norman and drummer John Keeble.

The group’s debut single “To Cut a Long Story Short“, which reached No. 5 in the UK in 1980, was the first of tenSpandau Ballet @ Dubai World Trade Centre on Sept 17th 2015 UK Top 10 hits, including a No. 1 single “True“, a No. 2 single “Gold“, and two No. 3 singles: “Chant No. 1” and “Only When You Leave“. The band has had eight UK Top 10 albums, including three “greatest hits” compilations and an album of re-recorded material. In 1984 they received the Brit Award for technical excellence

Being a part of the iconic Blitz Club scene in London’s Soho saw the band establish themselves as one of the super-groups of the 80’s. After an acrimonious split and two decades apart, the band reformed in 2009, embarking on a sold-out tour – which included a date at Dubai’s Sevens Stadium.

Late last year the band released the critically lauded ‘Soulboys of the Western World’ a film marking documenting theirSpandau Ballet @ Dubai World Trade Centre on Sept 17th 2015 story.  The band also released ‘The Story’ a greatest hits collection that included three new songs produced by legendary record producer Trevor Horn including ‘This Is The Love’ and the forthcoming single ‘Steal’.

People still talk about their amazing 2010 Dubai show, where together with Rod Stewart they sold out the 20,000 capacity Sevens Stadium. With strictly limited venue capacity this time around for this intimate gig, fans are urged not to miss out and to book tickets early, for what is expected to be a sold out show.

Time: gate open at 7pm; gig start at 9pm

Location: Dubai World Trade Centre
