Ramadan in Dubai: June 18th – July 17th 2015
Ramadan is a significant month in the Islamic calendar and in Dubai, the period is marked by a host of Ramadan-related activities. Emirati hospitality and traditions are also very evident during this month as iftars are hosted across Dubai and residents of different nationalities come together to share the spirit of Ramadan. The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing organises numerous events during the month and the retail sector witnesses brisk business.
Dubai International Holy Quran Award First to the 20th day of Ramadan, starting at 10.30pm daily
Now in its 19th session, this annual award comprises several components. One of the main features is a Holy Quran memorisation competition, as well as lectures on Islam at various locations across the Emirate aimed at confirming and celebrating Islamic values. The event is a chance for non-Muslims to experience the act of fasting and its duties during the month of Ramadan.

Dubai Ramadan Forum 2015: 24 June – 4 July 2015
For another chance to learn more about the Islamic faith, local tradition and culture head to Dubai World Trade Centre for the 14th edition of the Dubai Ramadan Forum. The line-up of events includes daily lectures presented by well-known preachers about social and religious issues. The lectures are available in Arabic, English, Urdu, Malayalam, Tagalog and Bengali, so everyone can participate. Another highlight is the History and Art of Arabic Calligraphy exhibition in The Dubai Mall, showcasing the works of leading calligraphers and the evolution of this beautiful art. And if you’re yet to experience an iftar, several Ramadan tents across Dubai will be hosting group iftars serving free meals to the public.

The Ramadan Night Market 02 July 2015 – 11 July 2015
Held in Dubai over 10 nights of Ramadan, the Ramadan Night Market will host a number of retailers from across the world, offering a diverse variety of products to a dynamic community from Dubai and the rest of the UAE. ? People from different parts of the world live and work here, bringing their own cultural heritage to this cosmopolitan city.

Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament 21 June – 13 July, 2015
This engaging sports event has become one of the most popular spectator events of Ramadan in Dubai. Participation is open to the public and events include paddle tennis, archery, volleyball, futsal, cycling and track competitions. Pre-registration is required for participants, and there are special events for ladies only.
