POP Goes The Easel Art Exhibition @ Mercato Mall on Nov 26-28 2015
Join us as for a weekend of glitter and glamour as we paint Dubai red, blue, white, green and every other hue at the Cr8hub Gallery’s Pop Goes the Easel exhibition.
Featuring revered New York pop artist Charles Fazzino’s latest Dubai-inspired 3D works as well as his pieces from the rest of the globe, the exhibition is an opportunity to view this quirky artist’s individualistic three-dimensional pieces in person.
Charles Fazzino, a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York City, is one of the most popular and highly collectible pop artists of all time.
During his more-than-thirty years as an artist he has created memorable pieces from around the world, imprinting his individualistic, vibrant and detailed three-dimensional style into the very fabric of popular culture. Often referred to as a pop culture historian because of the breadth of his work and the way it touches his collectors, Fazzino’s legacy marks him as part of the next generation of famous pop artists and sees him following paths originally formed by pop art pioneers like Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Red Grooms, and Roy Lichtenstein.
The Cr8hub Gallery was founded in Dubai in 2014 after gallery founders Lidija Kostic Khachatourian and Kristian Khachatourian travelled to New York and fell in love with a piece by revered pop artist Charles Fazzino. The intrepid entrepreneurs tracked Fazzino down and after discovering that he wasn’t represented in the Middle East, quickly commissioned him to create five unique,
Dubai-inspired paintings in his vibrant and somewhat quirky three-dimensional style. Today Cr8hub is Fazzino’s exclusive Middle Eastern representative.
In late 2015, the Cr8hub Gallery stated selling French optical artist Patrick Rubenstein’s incredible three-dimensional pieces in the Middle East.
Taking inspiration from surrealism, pop art, photography and sculpture, Rubenstein’s artworks feature iconic faces and symbols of popular culture – think Mick Jagger, Audrey Hepburn, Nelson Mandela, children’s toys, video game icons and more – translated into vivid, highly detailed pieces that transform depending on the angle you’re viewing them from.
Cr8hub Gallery – that enjoys look-twice three-dimensional pieces or works with a vibrant pop art feel – is always on the hunt for talented artists with fresh flair and a distinct style that it can represent across the Middle East.
