The Big Picture @ Pro Art Gallery
The Big Picture art platform consists of an independent annual art exhibition as well as an expanded program of talks and alternative education methods; self-funded and organized by TBP cultural practitioners. Its aim is to support artists and cultural practitioners in the United Arab Emirates and grant them spaces for growth, as well as expand their opportunities in being active members of the art scene via different programs and events. “Such a democratic way of selecting artists, each application was discussed and voted for to be included.” Said Stephane Valici from Street Art Gallery.
The Exhibition is going to be curated by Xenia Gazi, an emerging curator who got selected earlier from the curator open call announced in December last year, who also noted: “Dubai never ceases to amaze me, and I am pleased to work side by side with each artist to build this experience for the audience.”
The show is scheduled to take place for the first time in two venues, Pro Art Gallery and Street Art Gallery Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with more than 70 artists, from 2 May to 31 May 2015.
The Big Picture will be exploring multifaceted artistic creations such as painting, photography, sculpture, digital art, performance art, installation, music, sound art and video art and will open its doors to public on Saturday 2 May 2015 at both galleries, at 7pm.
