First Edition of Arab Fashion Week on Oct 31 – Nov 2 2015
THE ARAB FASHION COUNCIL ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF THE FIRST EDITION OF ARAB FASHION WEEK, SPRING SUMMER 2016 OCTOBER 31-NOVEMBER 02, 2015
H.E Cavaliere Mario Boselli, the Honorary President of both Arab Fashion Council and the National Chamber of Italian Fashion (Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italiana) and Arab Fashion Council’s Founder Jacob Abrian announced the launch of the first edition of Arab Fashion Week at a press conference held at One& Only Royal Mirage on Wednesday, 14th October 2015.
Following the official announcement during Milan Fashion Week on 23rd September 2015, The Arab Fashion Council (AFC), the largest non-profit fashion association, officially announced the launch of the first Arab Fashion week in the region.
Presented by title sponsor Huawei Arabia, Arab Fashion Week (AFW) is a three-day fashion extravaganza which will take place at the Park Hyatt from 31st October to 2nd November 2015. The event will present prominent International and Arab designers, such as Les Copains, Atelier Leon Leon, Abed Mahfouz, Laura Mancini, Selphie Bong, Adelina Rusu, Sylvio Kovacic, Tony Ward, Tiiya by Al Anoud, Giada Curti, Genny, Mireille Dagher and Anne de Grijff, all showcasing their Spring Summer 2016 collections.
Speaking on the momentous occasion, H.E Cavaliere Mario Boselli, the Honorary President of both AFC and the National Chamber of Italian Fashion said, “I am extremely happy to contribute to establishing an Arabian Fashion System, in other words a “Fashion Pipeline “considering the development of the sector from textile to the garment industry. It is an exciting time for the fashion and design industry in Dubai, which has become the hub for this sector in the Middle East, we look forward to introducing the region to the first Arab fashion week that is on an International level.”
The conference panel featured the key members of the Arab Fashion Council including, Jacob Abrian – Founder of the Arab Fashion Council, Dr. Mary Dell’ Edera – Chief Brand Officer, Dr. Raffaella Carnevale – Chief PR Officer and Mrs. Othaija Al Ameri – Chief Protocol Officer; along with Mr. Sandeep Saihgal – Vice President of Huawei Arabia, AFW’s Title Sponsor.

In partnership with Dubai Fashion TV of the International Fashion Network, Arab Fashion Week will host the exclusive Royal Arts installation “Royal Signature – Where Art Meets Fashion” charity gala in collaboration with Art UAE Foundation and sponsored by The National Council of Tourism and Antiquities of the United Arab Emirates.
The Arab Fashion Council’s strategy is to position the Arab World on the international map of fashion by adopting and developing global standards, elevating the talents of Arab designer’s academic studies and contributing to the development of culture by establishing an Arabic fashion system. The AFC are committed to nurturing the development of talented designers and young industry professionals through educational initiatives, and in providing support and resources for them to flourish in the market.
