After having started the 2017 season with a stunning class victory at 24H Dubai, GDL Racing is set to face a new Costantino Bertuzzi, the Italian driver for Lamborghini Super Trofeo MEchallenge lining up three Huracáns in the first out of the three Super Trofeo Middle East rounds scheduled for 9-11 February. GDL will support at Abu Dhabi the former F.1 Mimmo Schiattarella’s X One team, that will line up a car for Costantino Bertuzzi – four times Ferrari Challenge world champion and three times winner in the IMSA – who will share the wheel with Nigel Farmer, the Hong Kong’s driver who has also a commitment with the De Lorenzi’s team in the Radical Middle East series.

Costantino is a successful business man but he also have more than 3 decades of success  behind the wheel ; he is a World , North American, European ,  Italian GT  and Touring Car Champion ………Former Ferrari test driver and awarded with a gold helmet in 1997 as one of the best driver in career.

“In 1999, Ferrari hired me to develop the 360 Challenge with Enzo as a driver come technical engineer. In the same year I became a test driver for Pirelli, while also testing for BMS Scuderia Italia’s Ferrari 333SP that ultimately went on to win the Prototype World Championship,” Bertuzzi smiles. “That was the time I came in close contact with Michael Schumacher as test driver for Ferrari and the team trusted me on my inputs as there were two sides to it — as a driver and as a technician”. By 2001, Bertuzzi had amassed more than 450 trophies along with the recognition of being a great race engineer and test driver. Still under the Ferrari wings, the young driver shifted base to Orlando County, California, US to manage the Ferrari set up at the Beverly Hills 360 Challenge Racing Team. At the same time he was also working as a test driver on the 360 GT programme that was being privately supported by Michelotto that brought the car to its debut at the 2002 Rolex Daytona 24 Hours, where he has raced nine times.

His last race was during the Ferrari world Finals in 2014 where he obtained a brilliant second place , his come back in this spectacular championship will definitely make him remove the dust from his helmet .
