HH Sheikh Hasher Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum inaugurated the Italian Lifestyle Dubai Exhibition @ DWTC on 26th October 2016
HH Sheikh Hasher Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum inaugurated the Italian Lifestyle Dubai Exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Wednesday 26th October 2016, also the Italian Consul General Valentina Setta has honored us with her partecipation.
Italian Lifestyle Dubai is an exhibition dedicated to the best of fashion, beauty products and accessories from Italy. The event is being hosted by the Italian Industry and Commerce office in the UAE (IICUAE) and has attracted 120 small and medium-sized enterprises from Italy.
Dubai Events Blog caught up with Mauro Marzocchi, Secretary General of the Italian Industry and Commerce office in the UAE (IICUAE) and Benedetta Bottoli, one of the organizer.
“The Italian Lifestyle Dubai involves 120 Italian fashion companies; 70 buyers from Middle East and Europe. Since this is the first initiative, we have some lights and shadows, as well, with some points to be improved. The interesting economic indicator is that we export from Italy 452mil euro, the first half-year, in June 2016, gives us the stationarity of the exports to the same values. With this effort we would start to market our typical small and medium companies that do not have a brand, but who have a high quality product at competitive prices. Italian exports in general, in 2015 went very well with 6,187milioni euro of exports: means the double of what we export to India as Italian, twice what we export to Brazil, 20% more than we export to Japan and Saudi Arabia. We are very pleased that Dubai and the UAE in general are a very important market for Italian exports”- Mauro Marzocchi said.
“The Italian Lifestyle in Dubai is not a simple exhibition, but a project. We started working on it in February this year, and the Italian Industry and Commerce Office in the UAE has guided and supported the exhibitors in every single step right from the delivery of products to stand arrangements. The platform is wider with participation from a range of suppliers from Singapore, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, India, and of course, the UAE. We have more than 330 B2B meetings lined up between buyers and exhibitors. These meetings are scheduled on the first and second day of the exhibition. I think that Italian Lifestyle Dubai could become a regular feature in the world of expositions of Dubai. This is only the first edition of a very innovative project, as one of the few opportunities for the small and medium Italian companies to foray into the Middle East and get recognised as Made in Italy brand promoters” – Benedetta Bottoli said.
